MVnex is Schneider Electric's next-generation indoor metal-clad switchgear, building on over 50 years of MV switchgear design and manufacturing experience (since 1958). It provides integrated protection, monitoring, and control solutions for medium-voltage distribution networks.

MVnex features a withdrawable (hand-truck) metal-clad construction with four fully independent compartments: Low Voltage Compartment, Circuit Breaker Compartment, Busbar Compartment, and Cable Compartment. Compartment separation achieves IP2X, with an overall enclosure rating of IP4X, ensuring operator safety and power supply continuity.

Special Service Conditions

The following conditions require prior agreement with the manufacturer:

  • Altitude above 1000m: Insulation distance derating requires custom design

  • Elevated Ambient Temperature: Current derating or auxiliary cooling required

  • Condensation Risk: Preventive measures required (heaters, ventilation, dehumidifiers)

  • Must avoid risk of corrosion or other damage

Installation & Layout Requirements

  • Maintain maintenance access between cabinet rear panel and wall

  • Maintain clearance between cabinet sides and walls

  • Double-row face-to-face layout: minimum 2500mm between rows

  • Foundation: steel channel (recommended #5 channel), level tolerance ≤ 1mm/m

  • Foundation frame top approximately 3~5mm above final floor level

  • Embed anchor plates every 1~1.5m along the frame longitudinal direction
